WE got into coin collecting 2 years ago. It is actually a bit of fun.
Checking out coins in the hot Texas Summer and Autumn can be a challenge. The heat is bad news.
WE love to go through the coins on cold days and nights.
WE have OUR hot coffee on the table. You never know what you will find.

It was in the 1970s that WE as kids noticed OUR grandparent's avocado coffee maker. It was a beautiful tall beast that would emit the sweet scent of java. It was Hills Brothers Coffee.
WE were not allowed to drink coffee because WE were children.
Grandpa's old house is locked up. It looks like museum. He passed away in 2005. Uncle Joe was the last person living there. He died in 2011. That is when the locks went on.
Uncle Dom comes in from Alamo, Texas to look in on the old place here in Mission, Texas.
WE live next door.
WE wonder where the old avocado coffee maker is.
Last year WE smelled a ghostly scent of Hills Brothers Coffee coming from Grandpa's house. From the kitchen.
It might be time to try Grandpa's brand of cafe!
I remember as kids watching "The Wizard Of Oz" as the women of the house worked their magic in my grandfather's house making tamales.
Turkey was served at OUR house.
Grandpa and Grandma preferred tamales. House rules.
The adults had conversation and coffee on the side.
5heir brand was Hills Brothers Coffee.
I can still smell the aroma. It danced around the living room and dared only go to the kitchen borderline.
It felt safer flying out a window towards the garden and corn field.

Dad used to store coins in the empty coffee containers. Sometimes he would store small nails, screws and dice.
Now if WE could only find the Danish Dad brought home. It was Pecan danish. WE live in Texas so it better be pecan danish!

WE live in the countryside. Luckily, WE live near a State Highway in Texas.
