WE worked in the blueberry fields of Michigan back in 1979. It was the easiest farm work WE had done.
It was also the coolest summer. The temperatures were not Texas Style hellishly hot!
Mom, Dad and 5 kids brought in a nice harvest paycheck. It was OUR Super Bowl season.
Supposedly now the blueberry harvest is different. Pickers must wear gloves. A herbicide is on the plants?
The 20th century approach was better than the modern 21st century harvest technique.
"Don't Look Back" by BOSTON was playing in the fields. One of the young farmworkers was a massive fan. He had the album on 8-track tape! Remember those?
It was and is a Masterpiece by a rock band with a powerful and unique sound!
